FBX 40MG TABLET is used in the management of gout which is associated with an excess of a chemical called uric acid in the body. It contains a medicine called Febuxostat which is used to lower uric acid levels in patients with gout. It works by blocking the actions of an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which plays a key role in the production of uric acid in the body.
Take FBX 40MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food. During the initial days of the therapy, febuxostat can cause flare up of gout attacks in some individuals which is normal. Over the period of use, these flare ups usually reduce and becomes less painful upon everyday usage. If these flare ups are not manageable, consult your doctor for advice.
Do not take FBX 40MG TABLET if you are allergic to febuxostat, allopurinol and have an active gout attack. FBX 40MG TABLET should be used only when the gout attack subsides completely.
Before taking FBX 40MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing liver, kidney or heart diseases or thyroid problems. The most common side effects of taking FBX 40MG TABLET are nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, flare ups if gout attack, edema and abnormal liver test results. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.
